Region III will be well represented this weekend at the National Championship Tournaments in Men's Lacrosse and Women's Lacrosse. Onondaga Community College will be represeneted in both the men's tournament and the women's tournament. Genesee Community College will join the Lazers in the men's championship while Monroe Community College will join the OCC women. The women's tournament is being hosted by Monroe while the Men's Final Four is being held at Onondaga.
The Monroe CC and Onondaga CC women's teams have advanced to the women's championship after meeting in the Region III Championship game last Sunday. Monroe defeated Onondaga 14-7 to capture the Region III crown and will take on Harford Commuity College at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 14th. OCC will take on Region XV/XX Champion Howard Community College in the second national semifinal at 2:00pm
The OCC Men's Lacrosse team entered the National Tournament as the #2 seed and received a bye in the tournaments opening round. Genesee CC was awarded the fourth seed and advanced to the final four of the tournament after an opening round 19-9 victory over #5 seed Howard Community College last Saturday. The Cougars will take on the tournaments top seed, Nassau Community College, at 12:00pm this Saturday. Onondaga will host CCBC-Essex, the tournaments third seed, at 2:30 pm.
Both tournament championship games are scheduled for 1:00pm on Sunday, May 15th.
